The Swedish Tax Agency has now announced the new tax rates from 1 January 2026 for the Swedish electronics tax (LSKE) on white goods and home electronics. The index increase that takes place on this date normally follows the index from July to July. However, the 2026 index appears to have been at a slightly lower level than previously, ending up at an increase of 0.7 percent.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The maximum tax amount of SEK 552.27\/item arises for white goods with a net weight of 44.5 kg and above - i.e. the vast majority of larger white goods such as washing machines, refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tax rates have increased by 73%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compared to the original tax rate when the tax was introduced in 2017, the maximum tax amount per product for 2026 is now a full 73 percent higher. This in the little over eight years that the tax has been in effect in Sweden! A new Swedish record in tax increases?<\/p>\n\n\n
