The last month of 2025 ended positively compared to December 2024. This is especially true for white goods (MDA), which now sprinted towards almost reaching last year's level in value terms.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Incremental improvement for consumer durables<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the industry figures for the year are summed up, it is clear that the so-called sell-in value for the industry (-3.0%) does not quite reach last year's level. The positive outcome in the last month of the year (+3.1%) did mitigate the decline. But it could not fully compensate for the weak outcomes earlier in the year in April, May and November (see graph above).    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Statistics Sweden's latest report, the entire non-durable goods trade in Sweden \u2013 which includes APPLiA products \u2013 had a positive development in December. Compared to the corresponding month in 2024, non-durable goods trade increased by 3.1 percent while grocery trade decreased by 0.2 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Different developments for the main segments<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the second half of the year, major appliances (MDA) have almost recovered the negative market figures of the first half of the year and are closing at almost last year's level (-0.4%) in value terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A possible reason for the slightly improved outcome in the second half of the year is the extended ROT deduction, which was valid until December 31 and which gave some momentum to renovation and remodeling of kitchens and laundry rooms in Swedish homes. The ROT deduction will now return to its previous level after the turn of the year, i.e. 30 percent of the labor cost and has therefore lost some of its \u201dboost\u201d as we enter 2026.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The APPLiA market's household appliances (SDA) have had a tougher time in the second half of this year. Autumn sales did not reach last year's level, which means that the annual figure for market value landed at minus 9.7 percent compared to 2024 for this main segment.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n
