Smeg launches Soda Maker – Discover the art of carbonated water ”the Italian way”

Italy is known for its passion for taste, design and quality – and now Smeg brings Italian drinking culture to your home with the launch of the Smeg Soda Maker. An innovative and stylish carbonated water maker that combines Smeg’s iconic Italian design with advanced technology to create perfectly sparkling water, adapted to every occasion – ”the Italian way”. On April 1, 2025, the Soda Maker will be available in four exclusive colors: matte white, matte black, Emerald Green and Storm Blue on the Smeg website, as well as in Smeg Concept Stores in Stockholm, Malmö and Copenhagen, and at Bagaren och Kocken.

Smeg presents a new addition to its range of kitchen products – Smeg Soda Maker. In Italy, water is not just water – it is part of a gastronomic experience. From the morning espresso to the evening aperitivo, Italians carefully choose their carbonated water to enhance the taste experience. The Italians adapt the bubbles to the dish and the occasion – a tradition that Smeg now wants to bring to Swedish homes, and therefore presents ”The Art of Carbonating Water – the Italian Way”.

Three carbonation levels inspired by Italian drinking culture

The Smeg Soda Maker offers three different carbonation levels inspired by Italian drinking culture, adapted to the purpose of the drink:

Slightly sparkling – A mild carbonation level that enhances the taste of wine and elegant meals.
Sparkling – Medium carbonation that enhances the taste experience in meals.
Very sparkling – An intense carbonation level, perfect for cocktails and refreshing drinks.

Smeg Soda Maker – Design meets sustainability

As well as being a stylish addition to your kitchen, the Smeg Soda Maker is also a sustainable choice. The 800ml bottle is made from Tritan™ Renew, a sustainable material with 50% post-consumer recycled content, reducing the need for single-use plastic. The bottle’s transparent design makes it easy to keep an eye on the contents, and it’s also dishwasher safe. The innovative, patented clockwise control knob gives you full control over the carbonation level, and the spill-free magnetic drip tray makes it easy to use. What’s more, the Soda Maker is compatible with most screw-on CO₂ cylinders, making it easy to use without complicated installation.

The Smeg Soda Maker will be officially launched in Sweden on April 1, 2025 in the colors matte white, matte black, Emerald Green and Storm Blue, and will be available via Smeg's website, as well as in Smeg Concept Stores in Stockholm, Malmö and Copenhagen, and at Bagaren och Kocken.
