ARN: Incorrect delivery of microwave

The customer purchased a kitchen with approximately 120 packages in May 2021. Upon delivery, a microwave oven was delivered that the customer had not ordered. The customer reported the incorrect delivery and received information on how to return it.

Since the delivery was made to a holiday home where the customer is not located, the return could not be made in the requested manner. The customer then received an invoice for the microwave. The customer is requesting compensation for the invoice amount and travel expenses.

The seller has requested that the customer return the product on the days the company makes deliveries or pickups in the area, only certain days per week in the area in question. The company has also offered the customer to return the product in store for compensation for their own labor and mileage reimbursement.

ARN concludes from the documents in the case that the incorrect delivery is due to the company. The company is therefore responsible for taking back the product with the help of the consumer. The seller was not entitled to invoice the customer for the microwave oven. ARN approves the customer's request for compensation for the invoice and travel expenses and that the product be returned to the seller.
