ARN: Fridge/freezer fault – repair cancelled several times
The customer purchased a side-by-side online which was delivered in August 2019 with a 1-year warranty. In February 2020, the customer discovered that the product was making an abnormally loud noise.
The manufacturer first replaced the fan and later the compressor. The customer later complained that the product was not cooling, whereupon the refrigerant was replaced. The customer states that the product has been serviced at least 8 times and repaired at least 3 times and therefore requests cancellation of the purchase and does not want any further service visits.
The manufacturer has registered a total of 3 service cases for the product, one of which was a telephone service. In addition, another service case has been registered where the customer declined a service visit. The company has now not been able to inspect whether the fault still exists.
ARN notes from the documents in the case that it is not possible to assess whether there are remaining defects in the product, and in any case it can be stated that the product did not have identical defects.
ARN rejects the customer's claim.
