Future skills high on the agenda

Competence development and training of future employees is an important piece of the puzzle in a well-functioning and sustainable industry. Therefore, the issue of competence supply is constantly high on our agenda. For us, it is central to being able to meet the needs of member companies in the market at all levels.

In addition to monitoring the world and disseminating information about current industry issues internally in the industry, we collaborate with the Swedish Engineering Companies and the Swedish Engineering Companies Industry Groups to jointly disseminate knowledge about the industry and our impact on directives and external events. The fact that we also have the opportunity to conduct company-specific training on site at member companies, in, for example, law, consumer law, ARN practice and sales law, means that we have a good foundation for contributing to the industry's skills development. But that does not solve all challenges.

Collaboration with YH education programs
As an extra contribution to the supply of skills, we have over the past five years conducted training together with universities of applied sciences, mainly to train service technicians for the industry. We cooperate with the training providers, including the University of Applied Sciences and TUC Sweden, and actively participate in the management groups for the respective university of applied sciences education aimed at the industry. However, the current education programs are ending and the last cohort of students graduated in January. 95% of them have already obtained work - clear proof that the skills are still in high demand in the market. We will therefore, together with the providers of the respective education programs, create new applications for more education programs.

For those who don't want to wait for new training courses, I would like to advise that together with the Gothenburg Academy of Commerce, we are behind a training course aimed at sales and advice on Smart Homes.

Be part of shaping and capturing tomorrow's workforce – LIA/APL
One last tip before I leave you to read this month's newsletter. Those who complete the training have an internship at a company within the framework of the training. Receiving a student for LIA / APL is an excellent way to get to know the person and what they can do, and can develop into. Through an internship, you have the opportunity to find the right person for your business, it can almost be equated with a probationary period. If you have the opportunity, I therefore think you should contact our training providers or register your interest on their website. Even outside the larger players, there are vocational training courses, both general and more focused. Click on the links below!
