The trade fair year 2023 – CES & IFA
The 2023 trade fair year begins with CES in Las Vegas on January 5-8 and September 1-5 it's time for IFA in Berlin - these are the two large, international trade fairs where we can take advantage of the industry's new innovations and products.
In 2021, CES was a completely digital trade show. In 2022, the trade show took place on site in Las Vegas on January 5-7, and parts of the trade show – for example, many of the press conferences – were broadcast live for participants remotely. The trade show in Las Vegas, with its 2,300 exhibiting companies, was visited by just over 40,000 people, 30 percent of whom were international visitors from 119 countries.
In 2023, the fair will return to being four days and the goal is for it to be visited by 100,000 people. Just over 2,500 exhibitors will be on site and the fair will kick off on January 3 with the conference ”CES 2023 Tech Trends to Watch”. Later that day, CES Unveiled Las Vegas will be arranged where global brands and start-ups will showcase innovations.
Three of APPLiA's member companies will hold press conferences on Wednesday, January 4: Bosch (08:00-08:45), Hisense (09:00-09:45) and Samsung (14:00-14:45). The press conferences will be held at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, but a selection of all the trade fair's conferences will also be available to those who have registered. here.
Just like in 2022, next year's CES will focus on sustainability. Some of the conferences that will be held include "Reinventing the Food System for a 10 Billion Person Planet", "The Era of Sustainable Consumer Electronics" and "Renewal Energy, Renewable World".
“People are excited to be returning to Las Vegas for CES 2023, and it’s going to rock. We’re optimistic that we can reach our goal of 100,000 attendees, which would make the show the largest independent, post-pandemic tech event. This year’s show will feature keynotes from tech visionaries and the opportunity to see and touch the technology that is shaking up industries and changing our lives for the better,” said Gary Shapiro, President and CEO, CTA.
CTA says that the 2023 fair will be 186,000 square meters (50 percent larger than 2022) and that just over 3,000 media representatives are already registered.
IFA 2023
After a three-year hiatus, IFA 2022 was held in Berlin from September 2-6, and Messe Berlin announced that the fair was visited by just over 161,000 people, of which 2,500 were from the media. The three major focus areas at IFA 2022 were sustainability, connectivity and solutions for the smart home.
IFA will also be held next year at Messe Berlin from 1-5 September. The event is being organised by IFA Management GmbH, a new joint venture founded by gfu Consumer & Home Electronics GmbH and Clarion Events Ltd – one of the world's leading independent event organisers, something we have previously written about. here.
IFA Management GmbH says that by showcasing a unique combination of future technologies, actual products, engaging conversations, immersive experiences and top-class entertainment, we want to ensure that 2023 will be our biggest show ever. IFA will shine the spotlight on next-generation technology, the biggest tech innovations for the home, sustainability initiatives, women in tech, wearable health trends, AI and robotics, startups, the best inventions of 2023 and more.
