Together for Kretsloppet 2022
Together For The Circuit is El-Kretsen's annual conference, which this year offered lectures, workshops and exciting conversations in an archipelago environment. Mårten Sundin, El-Kretsen, report from two days with a focus on collection and recycling.
Like previous editions, this conference also took place from lunch to lunch, so that even long-distance guests would be able to arrive on time on day 1 and return home safely on day 2. This time it was fortunate that we did not start until lunch, even for the participants who came from Stockholm. The point was that we who work with producer responsibility, electrical appliances and batteries would have our conference at the same time as the international UN conference. Stockholm +50 was of course the strong connection our questions have with the global perspective of the UN's sustainability conference. What we hadn't expected was that the traffic in and around Stockholm was in "slow motion" these days. It was nervous until the last minute whether the first speaker would make it on time and whether the participants would defy traffic warnings and set out. Because it's a bit to Djurönäset on Värmdö. But once there, a calm and a privacy that is fantastic to experience. Everyone actually showed up and we were able to close the doors and begin 24 hours of knowledge, inspiration and meetings.
Was it worth the trip?
For El-Kretsen as a collection system, we want to gather ideas and wishes for the future from our suppliers, customers and other partners. Meeting people from different industries and professions with the archipelago as a fund is both educational and fun. In addition to informal conversations, we alternated lectures with workshops, another way to benefit from the differences among those gathered and where creativity took shape and came to fruition. We asked ourselves how we can drive the development of our sustainability aspects by considering what we should do more of and less of, what we should stop doing and what we could start doing. The hope is that the result is something that can be used not only by El-Kretsen, but that the thoughts triggered by such an exercise are taken home to your own organization.
”"I take with me a large dose of energy from the conference. It was an atmosphere filled with a solution focus on the resource and sustainability challenges we face, and I find it inspiring to be part of such a context. Broad perspectives were interspersed with concrete cases from both producers and others. You could say that the conference lived up to its name, Together for the cycle.”, commented Matts Spångberg, Board member of El-Kretsen and CEO of APPLiA.
The conference was followed by a well-deserved long weekend. But now we at El-Kretsen are busy gathering ourselves and the results from all the meetings and influences that the days at Djurönäset gave. We believe that meetings like these are needed so that we can continue to be the ones who really drive development forward. The dialogue continues. Thank you to those of you who came and participated this time!
