Three proud collaborations in the industry

Electrolux collaborates with the Swedish design duo Rave Review to inspire consumers to break the mold and take better care of their clothes, Kenwood is taking the step into the TV screen in Kockarnas kamp after 25 years in Sweden, and Elon is the official main partner of Hockeyallsvenskan for the second year in a row.

Electrolux & design duo Rave Review

The most sustainable clothes are the ones you already own, but on average, a garment is used ten times and discarded long before it is needed, Electrolux announces, explaining that this is why they want to inspire consumers to break the pattern and take better care of their clothes. To demonstrate that used clothes are still valuable, Electrolux has collaborated with Swedish design duo Rave Review to create a unique collection made from discarded clothes from the world's second largest clothing graveyard – the Atacama Desert.

Globally, an estimated 73 percent of all textile waste ends up in landfills or is incinerated. The Atacama Desert in Chile, home to the world’s second largest clothing graveyard, has quickly become a symbol of ”fast fashion” and the rise of textile waste. According to the UNECE, 21 billion tons of clothing end up in landfills every year. An estimated 39,000 tons of clothing are dumped in the Atacama Desert alone each year.

”In addition to the challenges of fast fashion, it is clear that we need to change the way we use and care for our clothes. Research shows that extending the lifespan of our clothes by as little as nine months can reduce carbon emissions, water consumption and waste by up to 20-30 percent. There are different ways to do this: by repairing or reusing old clothes, as well as airing, steam cleaning or washing them in a more sustainable way,” says Vanessa Butani, VP Group Sustainability at Electrolux.

“We have always been convinced that the fashion of the future cannot work the same way as it does today. I think we all have to change, in one way or another. When it comes to fashion, probably the most tangible and easiest method is to take care of the clothes we already have,” says Livia Schück, co-founder and Creative Director at Rave Review.

Kenwood & The Chefs' Battle

Now the popular kitchen appliances from Kenwood are also becoming known on television, as Kenwood is the main sponsor of the eleventh season of TV4's long-running series Kokkarnas Kamp. In the program, eight of the country's top chefs compete for the prestigious title through thrilling competitions in the legendary barn at Tosterup Castle.

Kenwood has been designing and developing kitchen equipment since 1947 and has been selling them in Sweden for almost 25 years. Now it's time to take the step into the television screen.

– It will be exciting to see these super professionals take on tough challenges, but also to hear the conversations around the dinner table. We are very happy that the production chose to use our kitchen machines. Not least Kenwood's cool kitchen machine Titanium Chef Patissier XL, which saves time and gives fantastic results with the ability to both weigh and heat, says Margita Westeus, senior category manager for Kenwood in the Nordics.
