Updated retailer guide for energy labelling on the internet

The Swedish Energy Agency has now released an updated retailer guide for energy labelling on the internet. The aim is to make it easier for retailers to comply with the rules for energy labelling on the internet.

As a retailer of products covered by an energy labelling regulation, you are responsible for:

  • The energy label is displayed visibly as required by the product regulation.
  • Product information sheets are available for the end customer

If sales take place via the internet, the requirements are more specific and you are then responsible for:

  • The energy label and product information sheet are displayed directly next to the product's price and in other cases close to the product.
  • The energy label and product information sheet are visible every time a product is displayed, i.e. even on category pages (list views).

In addition to the above, there are requirements regarding energy labelling in stores and in advertising, which you can read more about. here.
