Award-winning, iconic and energy-efficient product innovations

Award-winning induction hobs with built-in fans, iconic refrigerators in collaboration with a French champagne house and an energy-efficient Airfryer with a capacity of 5.5 liters. These are some of the latest product innovations from APPLiA member companies that you can read more about below.

Two-in-one – induction hobs with built-in fan

Bertazzoni's two new induction hobs with built-in fan will be available in stores at the end of January 2023. As they have a built-in motor and are only 21 cm deep, there is plenty of space for drawers under the hob.

The new induction hobs with integrated fan have been awarded the Archiproducts Design Awards 2022, an award that celebrates design excellence worldwide, the company announces, explaining that the efficiency of induction technology in these products is combined with high-performance ventilation, and the result is an extraordinary symbiosis between cooking and ventilation.

The central and circular fan grille with the iconic brand logo in brass, designed in collaboration with Valerio Cometti + V12 Design, is said to combine top-class performance with Bertazzoni's iconic style.

The hobs have four zones and a powerful and quiet fan. Each zone has nine power levels plus booster mode, and the multizone function combines two zones to create a single larger zone, allowing the use of really large pans.

The integrated fan, which can be installed in suction or filtration mode, is 100 percent safe against water leaks, and the carbon filters can be regenerated in the oven for long-term use. When the fan is on and the auto mode is selected, the fan automatically adjusts its speed based on the power used during cooking.

As a side note, if you have a 50 square meter kitchen (with a ceiling height of 2.5 m), it takes approximately 12 minutes to change all the air, if the fan is at maximum.

– With this new generation of two-in-one products, we are taking a big step forward in that they are significantly more compact than before, which allows for greater flexibility during installation, says Peter Ericsson, General Manager Bertazzoni Scandinavia.

Three new products – Smeg collaborates with Veuve Clicquot

Following the successful collaboration in 2009 with the limited edition Veuve Clicquot-customised FAB28 refrigerator, Smeg is once again collaborating with the French champagne house to introduce two new models of the FAB refrigerator.

The new FAB refrigerators, FAB28 and FAB10, will be a limited special edition in the classic Veuve Clicquot color Yellow, and they are already available at Smeg's Concept stores in Stockholm, Malmö and Copenhagen.

The collaboration also includes another special product, ”The Clicquot fridge”, a cooling package for champagne bottles that is inspired by the Smeg refrigerators from the 1950s and is available in two colors: yellow (for the house's flagship Yellow Widow) and pink (for the Rosé cuvée).

The custom-made champagne boxes are plastic-free, made from 100 percent recyclable sheet metal and the inner material consists of sugar cane residues. The gift box can be seen as a beautiful and functional object that can keep a bottle chilled for up to two hours, but can also be reused as a design object by removing the inner vacuum form.

”"The Clicquot fridge" is available for purchase in certain exclusive department stores, Smeg states.

About Veuve Clicquot

Founded in Reims in 1772, Veuve Clicquot remains true to its motto ”Only one quality, the finest.” In 1805, Madame Clicquot took over the management of the house as one of the first businesswomen of modern times, earning the epithet ”la grande dame de la Champagne.” Her visionary spirit and innate sense of the French art de vivre live on today. Her famous cuvée, Brut Carte Jaune, tells the story of more than two decades of inherited knowledge at the heart of a unique heritage. The color of the sun symbolizes the values of boldness and optimism that have characterized the house for 250 years.

A new Airfryer

No one is unaffected by the high electricity prices and many are looking for new ways to reduce their electricity bill, declares Wilfa, announcing that a simple measure that reduces electricity consumption is to cook food in an Airfryer – by using an Airfryer instead of a traditional oven, energy consumption is halved. This is because an Airfryer uses energy more evenly, heats up significantly faster and cooks food in a shorter time than a regular oven. A traditional oven uses an average of 3000-3500W, while the consumption of an Airfryer is between 1500-2000W on average.

The new Airfryer Crispier 5.5L from Wilfa gives you the opportunity to cook your favorite dishes in a healthier way with either little or no oil at all, and the fast-circulating hot air ensures that you get a perfect result with a crispy outside and a juicy inside, the company states.

The new model is a spacious Airfryer with a 5.5 liter capacity so you can easily cook for the whole family. Thanks to the square shape, you have room for more food, without taking up more space on the kitchen counter compared to a rounded model. A pizza pan, baking dish and grill rack are included, so your possibilities for using the Airfryer are maximized.

With ten preset programs, it's easy for you to choose the perfect settings for your cooking, explains Wilfa, adding that the Airfryer also has functions such as preheating, defrosting, keep-warm function and reminder to turn the ingredients, for smooth all-round cooking. You can also manually set both time and temperature yourself, from 30-200 degrees, and with a low temperature setting you can also dry ingredients with fantastic results, the company says.
