APPLiA statistics may show a turnaround
It is possible that we can begin to hope for a turnaround in the white goods and household appliance market – this after another month (April) with positive figures for the industry's value-based sell-in figures. Not big numbers, but still encouraging.

Two positive months in a row
After the pandemic's inflated sales within APPLiA's product range, it has been a lean few years for the industry. Consumption slowed down, housing construction fell rapidly and products became significantly more expensive due to, among other things, extraordinary increases in the tax outcome for the electronics tax. 2026 also began with two shaky months, but now both March and April have delivered positive monthly figures for the industry. Now "only" 2.9 percent (accumulated) remains to be made up for last year.

Household appliances (SDA) show ”green”
The household appliances (SDA) product segment is reported with consistently positive figures regarding value development in 2026. Last year has now been surpassed (+0.3%) and the slight increase is especially due to the segments coffee machines, "personal care" and other products within small kitchen appliances. .
Washing machines best among MDA
Larger appliances (MDA) also reported a positive month in April (+3.8% compared to April 2025) but still have some way to go (-3.9%) before the accumulated figures from last year can be fully matched. The strongest segment in the month among large appliances was the washing and drying segment, where almost the entire product range with front-loading washing machines, washer-dryer combos and dryers showed solid growth in April. Within this segment, only the top-loading washing machines lost ground compared to the previous year.
Now expectations are high for the May figures, which will be published at the end of June. Will they confirm the supposed turnaround?
