Analogue products in connected times

Connected appliances started appearing on the market about eight years ago, and today most manufacturers in the industry offer products that can communicate with each other as well as with the user's mobile phone. But there are still quite a few products, in different price ranges, to choose from for those who don't want to connect.

Most manufacturers have been connecting more and more of their products for many years, which has brought a number of new opportunities for consumers to simplify their lives at home. Via the connected products, a lot of data is collected from users, with the aim of creating even better and more tailored products and services in the future. The connection is therefore partly a way to offer services that do not exist today in the future.

To put it simply, in the beginning, only the companies' flagship products were connected, but now with most suppliers, connectivity is a feature that is found in more and more of the products that are launched.

If for some reason you don't want a connected product, this means you are limited to the simpler, and lower-priced, products from many suppliers - but you can of course buy a connected product and not connect it...

But there are also a number of products being launched that are not connected, in the entry-level as well as mid-range and premium segments.

Three in one from Bertazzoni

An example of a non-connected product in the premium segment is Bertazzoni's 90 cm freestanding cooker with induction hob and integrated fan, which was first showcased at the Eurocucina trade fair in June 2022 and will be launched on the Nordic market in January 2023.

A dedicated knob controls the fan and by setting the knob to the "Automatic" position, the extraction effect is adjusted according to how many zones and how much power the hob uses - the product can therefore be said to communicate with itself, but not with other products or mobile phones...

The integrated fan grille, made of black-painted aluminum, includes Bertazzoni's brass medallion, and under the grille there is a grease filter (which can be washed regularly in the dishwasher) and a carbon filter – with a very long lifespan – which is very effective against odors and smoke, and is reset every three months in the oven.

The internal air duct system is made of metal, to easily withstand high temperatures near the oven cavity, and to meet all installation needs, two different air outlet systems are available. The product will be offered in stainless steel plus six colors.

A duo that makes life go round

Cylinda's new 6000 series is said to have a number of well-thought-out functions that simplify and streamline work in the laundry room, and one example is the double time-saving function - sometimes your clothes don't need a full wash but become like new by removing odors and wrinkles with a special steam and refresh program.

The laundry series not only has an updated look that will appeal to the modern household, but also a larger door and larger drum volume that holds more. In addition, the machines are easier to place as the depth has been reduced.

In the development of the washing series, important environmental aspects have been built in, says Cylinda, and mentions that some examples of this are that the outer drum is made from recycled PET bottles. The packaging material is also recycled. The washing machine is available with auto-dosing, which means that it senses and doses exactly the right amount of detergent for a perfect washing result. The series is available from energy class C up to the best energy class A, but connectivity is not a function that the products are equipped with.

Compact wine cooler

Dometic has expanded its interior product portfolio with its award-winning compact wine cooler, the Dometic DrawBar, with a capacity of five bottles. The DrawBar leverages Dometic’s expertise in refrigeration technology, a legacy that dates back to 1922 when two young Swedish engineers invented absorption refrigeration technology, as well as its rich history of developing appliances for compact spaces, the company states.

“Wherever there is a drawer, there can now be a DrawBar,” says Juan Vargues, President and CEO of Dometic.

DrawBar has been designed and engineered to seamlessly integrate into standard 60 cm wide cabinets, and is available in a number of different designs.
