APPLiA introduces 2-year warranty in the new consumer regulations

On May 1st of this year, the Swedish Consumer Sales Act was amended, which extended the reversed burden of proof from six months to two years. Reversed burden of proof means that the seller has the burden of proof in the event of a complaint and must then be able to prove handling errors by the consumer in order not to be liable for the complaint. In the event of any ambiguities, the seller is responsible for these.

APPLiA has introduced a two-year warranty. The warranty will apply retroactively to everyone who purchased the member companies' products after May 1, 2022. An extended warranty is a matter of responsibility and sustainability for the serious companies on the market that are members of APPLiA.

The final wording of the industry terms and conditions is currently for the consideration of the Swedish Consumer Agency, as APPLiA's consumer terms and conditions are always developed in consultation with the Swedish Consumer Agency to ensure consumer rights.
