Home Connect Plus is being discontinued

With Home Connect Plus, you can manage a variety of smart home products from over 50 brands in one app. But the app will be shut down on June 30, 2023, the company behind the service, Residential IoT Services GmbH, announced.

Residential IoT Services GmbH is a startup company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH, which since 2019 has worked with the vision of making people's everyday lives easier by offering a wide range of technical solutions for smart homes.

About two years ago, the Home Connect Plus app was launched, which made it possible to manage smart home products from a large number of manufacturers in one app, instead of having to use different apps for the different products.

Just over a year ago, the app was launched in a version specifically adapted for tablets, and the app has been continuously developed in terms of functionality, as, for example, over the past year it has become possible to configure and automate various functions in different ways.

But now it's over, and the company's homepage can we read the answer to the question why Home Connect Plus is being discontinued:

”Home Connect Plus succeeded in building a user-centric smart home solution with many registered users and device partners. However, given the challenging economic market situation, we have decided not to continue investing in Home Connect Plus.”

So from July, Home Connect Plus users can simply start managing their smart homes via a number of different apps instead of one.

It is important to note in this context that the Home Connect app is not being discontinued. Home Connect is an app from Home Connect GmbH, a subsidiary of BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, which is available for household appliances from Bosch, Siemens, Gaggenau, Neff, Solitaire, Thermador, Balay, Constructa, Pitsos and Profilo.
