Oral-B iO10 – an electric toothbrush that guides the user

Now Oral-B has launched its new crown jewel in electric toothbrushes, iO10, which with artificial intelligence and an iOSense charging station with real-time guidance will take toothbrushing to a new level.

After six years of research and development, which includes more than 250 patents, Oral-B launched its iO series of electric toothbrushes at the Consumer Electronics Show 2020 (CES 2020). The toothbrushes combine oscillating, rotating movements with microvibrations. The series previously consisted of the iO 6, 7, 8 and 9 models, and at CES 2022 the company announced that they are now broadening the series with both the crown jewel iO10 and iO 4 and 5. The three new models are now also available on the Swedish market.

The big news with the iO10 is iOSense, an included charging device that guides the user in real time on when, where and how to brush for the ultimate clean. The interactive design allows you to easily track your brushing to constantly improve your brushing technique and never miss any area of your mouth, the company says.

When to brush: iOSense has a timer for optimal brushing time and a WiFi clock.
Where to brush: Six light bars on the device represent different zones of your mouth, and turn from blue to white when you've finished brushing each zone. When all lights are white, you've brushed all areas long enough.
How to brush: The iOSense device shows in real time if you've brushed too hard by lighting up with red light signals.

The iOSense is also a magnetic charging station, which charges the iO10 brush in about three hours, and when you're on the go, you can instead use the included Power2Go travel case to charge.

The app keeps track and provides feedback

The companion Oral-B app tracks user goals and provides personalized feedback after each brushing session. It also saves brushing history so you can get more in-depth, personalized feedback over time via your phone.

Like the other electric toothbrushes in the iO series, the iO10 is equipped with a magnetic motor that brushes with micro-vibrations, providing Oral-B's most gentle, effective and quiet brushing experience ever.

The Oral-B iO10 has seven brushing modes – Whitening, Daily Clean, Gum Care, Sensitive, Super Sensitive, Intense and Tongue Clean – and is available in black and white.

The new Oral-B iO5 has five brushing modes, smart pressure sensor, AI and comes with a charger and travel case. The new entry-level model in the series, iO4, lacks AI and only has four brushing modes, but is also equipped with a smart pressure sensor and comes with both a charger and travel case.
