Smeg launches Galileo at Fotografiska in Stockholm
Industry professionals who have been longing for a larger physical event with colleagues for two years had their wishes fulfilled when Italian manufacturer SMEG gathered industry professionals from across the Nordics for a major product introduction on March 31 at Fotografiska in Stockholm.
Nearly 200 key people from the Nordic retail chains and other industry professionals attended the SMEGS event and had a pleasant evening with SMEG presenting its new product series Galileo. Galileo is the Italian manufacturer's interpretation of modern oven technology, which can combine three physically different functions in a single product: a traditional oven, a steam oven and a microwave.
Left: On stage: Patrik Esperstrand, Nordic Sales and Marketing Director, Ulrika Theander, Nordic Director and Fredrik Berling, moderator for the evening.
Right: Mingling among the visitors were Laura Guerra, Brand Manager Smeg SpA, and Ulrika Theander, Nordic Director.
Visitors were told in a nicely arranged stage program that the product launch of Smeg's Galileo, with this revolutionary cooking technology, is the first in the world to use steam, microwaves and traditional oven functions in one and the same oven. A whole range of other combinations were also presented in a variety of Smeg's different design series. It's also great that an Italian genius from the 17th century has given his name to this new series. Galileo Galilei, an astronomer, physicist and engineer from Florence in Italy, is considered to have been a universal genius and is still called the 'father of modern physics' and played an important role in the beginning of science. So a very fitting name!
Omnichef with ”everything” combined
Omnichef and Steam Generation.
The range's flagship model, the Omnichef, combines the very best of traditional, steam and microwave cooking, the company says, making it easier and more efficient to create delicious, perfectly cooked dishes time and time again.
By combining the three cooking methods, the Galileo technology in the Omnichef models provides the advantages and features of each: the delicious browning results of the traditional oven functions, the moisture and flavour benefits of steam and the speed of microwave cooking, claims the iconic brand. Smeg reduces cooking times by up to 70 % when all three methods are combined in the Omnichef oven and says that ”Galileo will revolutionise the experience of home cooking and gourmet dining in Nordic kitchens!”
Full steam ahead in Steam Generation
In the Steam Generation ovens, the well-equipped oven containing many traditional oven functions is combined with a cannon of different steam functions. In the most advanced oven STEAM 100 PRO, traditional cooking is combined with up to 100 % of steam, and with the addition of professional algorithms, it becomes a real wow factor in the kitchen!
With the automatic Fill&Hide water filling system, water filling is extra convenient and possible even while the oven is in operation and the door is closed, thus without having to interrupt the cooking process.
Delicious dishes
There were many long-awaited opportunities for visitors to mingle, chat about the industry and sample dishes from the professionally set up kitchen stage before the gastronomic seated dinner with entertainment started! All eyes on Galileo!
It's a shame that Galileo Galilei himself didn't get to experience this event – he would have probably appreciated it just as much as the rest of us!
