Industry terms

APPLiA develops industry terms and conditions and regulations for sales to retailers, construction companies and commercial companies, as well as service and repair regulations. All regulations aimed at consumers are developed in close collaboration with the Swedish Consumer Agency.

Consumer law

Consumer rights are regulated in the Consumer Purchase Act (KKL) and the Consumer Services Act (KTL), both of which are mandatory, meaning the seller cannot agree on worse terms.

The laws are based on the principle that original defects must be reported no later than two months after they are discovered, but no later than three years.

The remedy for an established original defect is repair or replacement. Repair is carried out in the first instance, provided that no major inconvenience is caused to the buyer and that it is economically advantageous for the seller.

An examination fee is charged to the consumer in cases where the defect is not covered by warranty or warranty liability. Information about the examination fee can be provided verbally.

The Swedish Consumer Complaints Board (ARN) handles cases where buyers and sellers cannot agree.

PRICE

– For electronic pricing information

APPLiA Sweden has developed an industry standard to simplify the electronic exchange of price information. This standard is based on the international EDIFACT standard, which describes, among other things, what a price list should look like. Specifically, the standard means that the industry always knows in what order the various pieces of information about the company's products, product groups, prices, etc., should be sent and with how many characters.

We have developed an industry-wide application within the framework of the standard, which you can find below. APPLiA also has a product grouping that is being further developed and applies to white goods and small appliances. We are responsible for the administration and maintenance of the product grouping.
