Extend shelf life & reduce food waste

APPLiA and ARN

Within our industry segment, approximately 8,000,000 household appliances are sold annually. ARN examines cases where consumers complain during the 3-year complaint period (in accordance with the KKL) but also cases where the consumer has received an extended warranty. In itself, this means that approximately 25,000,000 - 30,000,000 products each year could become an ARN case.

ARN is a committee consisting of 5 people. The judge who presides over the hearing has at least appellate court expertise. The rest of the committee consists of 2 business representatives and 2 consumer representatives. 2-4 of these people are often lawyers, but must also have expertise in their product area. ARN: Pour not repaired immediately – replacement purchase/damages/cancellation

The customer purchased an induction hob in October 2020. In December 2020, it broke and the customer contacted the seller that same day, who directed the customer to submit a written complaint by email. The customer received no information about the loan product and, as the family has severe food allergies, he purchased a new hob from another seller that same day.
